Extra-Ordinary Behaviour Poster
Extra-Ordinary Behaviour told the stories of four young people: Marcia, Beverley, Rita and Liam. The style of the play was non-naturalistic and presented a reality which was very far removed from the real world of East Enders for example. A set of circumstances brought the four characters together and as they came to terms with each other and tested each other out, they revealed their own stories. The play raised many issues including responsibility, trust, friendship, being misunderstood and how to gain power.

Nick Stafford was Writer-in-Residence at Half Moon Theatre’s young people’s company in the mid-1980s. He talks about integrated casting and the distinctive nature of young people’s theatre practice at Half Moon Theatre, as compared with Theatre-in-Education. Interviewed by Toni Tsaera.
