Through the land of Vampires a virginal young man bicycles resolutely onward. But in her dark castle, the beautiful countess waits to ensnare him in her unnatural slumber. In a world rich with suggestion of terror – where fiction is no stranger than fact – vampires, virgins, cannibals and necrophiliacs perform the figures of a weird dance.
Steve Harris was Associate Director at Half Moon Theatre in the 1980s and as such was responsible for the young people’s programme and policy. He talks about the rehearsal process for Angela Carter’s Vampirella. Interviewed by Alexia-Pyrrha Ashford.
Norman Goodman was the Education Worker at Half Moon Young People’s Theatre from 1985 to 1989. He talks about Vampirella and how this production gave Josette Bushell-Mingo her Equity card. Interviewed by Beccy Allen.
