The play opens on an island in the South Pacific where two East End criminals are hiding out. The comedy duo are persuaded to break into the ‘lunatic asylum’ on the island to kill one of the ‘patients’. The play is an allegorical account of the assassination of Leon Trotsky. On returning to London, they find that all is not as it was when they left, in the wake of a nuclear attack and a military coup in the capital, headed up by their third musketeer.
You can access the script of this play via the British Library’s MPS Modern Playscripts Collection.
